Death of a God - Part 2After the death of his brother Baldr, Hermóðr, as ordered, set off on his quest to retrieve Baldrs soul. He rode Sleipnir for nine days and nights. He passed through many of the nine worlds on his way to see Hela. As he neared the gates, he could here the screams of the damned that reside in Niflheimr. As he came even closer he saw the shear size and intensity of the gates of Hel and to his distress, he found himself afraid. Hermóðr swallowed his fear and any apprehensions he had.
